Your Go-To Guide to 2023’s Arts and Entertainment Awards
US & UK: Dates, Details, and Awards Show Seat Fillers Information
It’s arts and entertainment awards season! Well, any time you read this, it is awards season, as it’s no longer a January-February thing. That’s why we feel it’s ok to share this list in February, as you don’t need us to tell you about the biggest extravaganzas.
Sure, the year kicks off with the Golden Globes and Oscars. But you can see your favorite actors, musicians, and artists dressed to the nines, introducing you to their date or family, and sometimes saying controversial things pretty much all year round.

SAG Awards honor acting performances across both film and television categories, similar to the Golden Globes. The 2022 standouts include the most nominations for Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Banshees of Inisherin (five each). Ozark takes top billing in the TV category with four nominations.
Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards
Who will be slimed this year? Past “recipients” include John Cena, Katy Perry, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Harlow, and Justin Bieber.
The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards is an exciting event celebrating the best in kid-friendly entertainment every year. Scheduled for March 4, 2023, this popular event will draw enormous crowds of excited children and teens.
The awards show honors the best in television, music, movies, sports, and more. It features special appearances from some of the biggest names in entertainment. Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards is a must-see with lots of surprises, performances, and fun.
Academy Awards (The Oscars)
The 95th Academy Awards (The Oscars) is on March 12, 2023. Unlike the Golden Globes, which covers TV and film, the Oscars will honor the best achievements in motion pictures from 2022.
Jimmy Kimmel is hosting for the third time, and Everything Everywhere All at Once is coming in strong with the most nominations (11). Sixteen first-time acting category nominees also rule the school - the most in Academy Award history.
CMT Music Awards
The CMT Music Awards highlight spring’s arts and entertainment awards. It’s the only “entirely fan-voted awards” presentation. This year’s event is scheduled for April 2nd, live from Austin’s Moody Center.
Host Kelsea Ballerini will keep the party going, and Carrie Underwood has already signed on as a performer.
TONY Awards
The Tony Awards (TONYs) honor excellence in Broadway theater productions each year by recognizing outstanding contributions in acting, directing, choreography, and design.
New York City is the only place for a show like this that honors the best on the big stage. This year’s presentations are set for June 11th, 2023, at United Palace. Even though the venue dates back to 1930, it’s a first-time host of the annual Tony Awards. A few of last year’s recipients include The Lehman Trilogy (Best Play), A Strange Loop (Best Musical), and SIX: The Musical (Best Original Score).
Who Has a Tony Award?
This doesn't have anything to do with the 2023 presentation, but the official Tony Awards website has a cool feature where you can search for winners and nominees from 1947 to today.
VMAs
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) is an annual awards show recognizing outstanding music videos by artists worldwide. It operates on a June-to-June timetable instead of a show dedicated to the previous year.
This year’s VMAs will air live on August 31, 2023. Some of 2022's big winners include Taylor Swift for "All Too Well," Dove Cameron – Best New Artist, and Jack Harlow’s "First Class" for Song of the Summer.

Awards Show Seat Fillers
Unlike OTL Seat Fillers (aka local seat fillers), who privately attend local theatre, comedy, music, sporting, and other special events as official guests of the venues, awards show seat fillers are much different. Awards show seat fillers are on the clock, primarily unpaid. They have the fun of filling seats for celebrities who need to accept an award or run an errand.
Producers don’t like open seats. So, it’s awards show seat fillers to the rescue!
If you’re interested and live in one of the major markets for awards shows, you can check out sites like Seat Fillers and More.
New Ways to Fill Seats at Arts & Entertainment Awards Shows
In 2023, the Grammys made seat-filling headlines for its GRAMMY U program, where college students got an opportunity to fill seats and be a part of music history.
The 2023’s Academy Awards is also switching things up in the seat-filling department. Academy voters get to claim the coveted positions.
Our best advice is to search the awards show you’re interested in and keep checking back for updates on seat filling for the next event. You might get lucky!
Local Seat Fillers - Year-Round Opportunities With a Twist
However, if you’re not singularly focused on awards shows, check out local seat-filling opportunities through OTL Seat Fillers. You get to reserve free tickets to local shows and events. You get to treat your family and friends and sit together just like everyone else in the audience. There are no switching seats, as you’re not filling a seat for someone else – you’re just filling seats and having lots of fun seeing what pops up out of the blue!
FAQs
Dates for a few of the most prominent awards shows include The Academy Awards on March 12th, BAFTAs - 19 February, and Emmy Awards on September 19th. A full 2023 awards show calendar is posted on OTL Seat Fillers.
Seat-filling for the Grammys is different in 2023. Instead of the typical registration process, the Grammys invited college students to attend through a Recording Academy membership program called GRAMMY U.
Seat filling is handled differently for each awards show. But your best bets are to search for seat-filling information for the specific ceremony you're interested in attending. You can also check out Seat Fillers and More, as it's a go-to for many prominent events.
There are a few types of seat fillers - awards shows, Las Vegas & NYC, and local seat fillers. Awards show seat-filling is determined by each show's producer. Las Vegas and NYC seat fillers have the benefit of year-round runs of shows, so seat filling is busier in those locations. The third type is local seat-filling, provided by OTL Seat Fillers. Local seat fillers in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, London, Miami, San Francisco, Tampa, and other major markets are members of a club and get to reserve free pairs of tickets to theater, comedy, music, and more when local venues have open seats.
